About Lucas Tay

Lucas graduated from the Singapore Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. With a foundation rooted in both acute hospital care and the private sector, Lucas possesses a well-rounded understanding of patient needs across different settings allowing him to tailor treatments effectively and compassionately.

Lucas also has had the privilege of working closely with elite athletes, including the national handball team and the Lion City Sailors – Women’s Premier League Team in Singapore. His involvement in sports coverage has given him a unique perspective on injury prevention and performance enhancement. Lucas’s practice extends far beyond sports-related injuries.

Lucas’ areas of specialisation encompass musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and lower back pain, osteoarthritis, and post-operative rehabilitation. He is also skilled in treating conditions like frozen shoulder and various knee-related sporting injuries. With a commitment to delivering personalized care and a holistic approach to physiotherapy, Lucas is dedicated to helping his patients achieve their physical goals and regain their quality of life.

At Physio Focus, Lucas brings his extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions to offer dry cupping therapy. With a focus on enhancing circulation and improving joint mobility, Lucas uses specialized cups, ensuring a safe and effective treatment option that caters to a wide range of patients. This technique benefits patients with headaches, back, neck, knee, and shoulder pain.

About Terence Tong

Terence is a registered osteopath with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and Osteopathy Australia. He completed a 5-year double degree programme from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, obtaining a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy).

Terence is experienced in modulating pain and improving function through various treatment modalities. These include osteopathic manual therapy, muscle energy technique, rehabilitative exercise, dry needling, and shockwave therapy.

He has managed:

Neck, shoulder, hip, low back pain

Tendinopathies (Golfer’s elbow, Tennis elbow, Achilles)

As someone who discovered osteopathy due to chronic neck pain and headaches, Terence understands how debilitating chronic pain can be, and is dedicated to helping people feel, move and perform better. He has a passion for getting patients out of pain, and equipping them with active management strategies for injury prevention and daily performance. Terence has a special interest in managing chronic pain, headaches and TMJ dysfunction, and frequently collaborates with other healthcare professionals in Singapore to improve these conditions.

Prior to becoming an osteopath, Terence was a competitive Muay Thai athlete, Sports Trainer, and Strength and Conditioning Coach with more than 10 years of coaching, ringside/pitchside support, and professional competition experience. His previous experience working with athletes in high pressure situations has enhanced his assessment and diagnostic skills, giving him a strong foundation for the management of sports and overuse injuries.

Outside of clinic hours, Terence is a kettlebell sport enthusiast and has obtained Rank 1 in Long Cycle. He is also an accredited S&C coach under the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA), and offers 1-1 personalised coaching for patients who are out of pain and are returning to active sport.

About Rowena Chance

Rowena qualified in UK in 1985. She worked initially in large regional hospitals working in both in-patient and out-patient care before moving to Switzerland to work in a rehabilitation centre in the Alps. She moved to Asia in 1992, working for 14 years in private practice in Hong Kong and then setting up her own clinic on moving to Macau. She joined Physio Focus in 2009 when the family relocated to Singapore.

She has a wealth of experience in Private Practice and is an experienced manual therapist treating all types of musculo-skeletal and sporting injuries. Her more recent clinical interest has been in the area of women’s health, including ante- and post- natal problems and pelvic pain disorders often presenting as hip or back pain. She is passionate about exercise rehabilitation and has taught Pilates-based exercise for over 20 years. She has worked with clients with long term pain and postural issues as well as elite athletes and professional dancers. In Hong Kong she worked with dancers from Hong Kong Ballet, taught dance students at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and with Cirque du Soleil artists while in Macau.

During her time in Asia she has been heavily involved in treating clients with sporting injuries at all levels. She worked at the Hong Kong International Sevens competition for 20 years and worked for a premier league Rugby Club providing ‘on-field’ assessment and treatment for the majority of her time in Hong Kong. Rowena is one of our longest serving physiotherapists.

MCSP (Chartered Physiotherapist UK) Clinic Pilates Instructor Member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association and registered as a Physiotherapist under the Singapore Allied Health Professions Act 2011.

About Michi Cole

Michi has a vast experience in treating athletes with her magical hands. Michi works part time with the clinic in between travelling with a variety of Singapore national teams, including badminton, table tennis, and para athletes.

Michi first became interested in massage therapy twelve years ago. She has been pursuing this passion ever since and obtained an ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage and certificates in sports massage, full body massage and foot reflexology. In addition, Michi is qualified as a Level 1 Sports Trainer from Sports Medicine Australia.
