Liew Wei Yong

Founder, Fitness Coach and Behavioural / Career Consultant at Train Live Compete

Liew Wei Yong is a celebrity trainer in Singapore with over 18 years of experience in the fitness industry. She is certified in sports management, behavioral assessment, and positive psychology. As a personal trainer, she takes care of her clients’ physical, mental, and health issues, and has a proven track record in areas such as marathon running, weight management, chronic disease management, elderly health management, and mental wellbeing.

Wei Yong is also an accomplished ultra-runner, having completed 250km races in the Gobi and Sahara Deserts, consistently finishing in the top 16. She oversees fitness training for various organizations, including the Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore Police Force, and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.

James Yeo

Director & Performance Nutritionist, Performance Nutrition

James is a sports science trained nutritionist with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports & Exercise Science and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition (Distinction) from ISSN.

James works with high-performance athletes, including MMA fighters, marathon runners, basketball players, weightlifters, and horse riders, to help them improve their performance and recovery. He also helps busy business executives improve their overall health by identifying key windows of opportunity in nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise.

James has supported companies like Precision Nutrition and the Institute of Performance Nutrition in developing their curriculum and is also an experienced educator who trains personal trainers and speaks to the public about sports nutrition.

Dr Jay-Lee Nair

Psychologist, Sport and Performance and Author of ‘Good Sport’

Dr. Jay-Lee is a highly sought-after consultant in Singapore, with a passion for helping high achievers raise their standard of performance in sport, life, work, and academics. With years of experience as a sport and performance psychologist, she specializes in working with perfectionistic-striving high achievers to develop effective strategies for adapting and developing habits that lead to thriving high performance, without the weight of self-pressure and self-criticism.

Jay-Lee has worked with a variety of clients, including professional athletes, young student-athletes experiencing performance anxiety, and corporate champions looking to improve themselves. She is also the author of “Good Sport,” a book that offers practical advice for shaping young athletes into exceptional people.

Haeley Kan

Registered Physiotherapist, Prohealth Physio Focus

Haeley is a physiotherapist originally from Canada who completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of British Columbia and then went on to complete his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland in Australia. With extensive experience in private practice, Haeley values helping patients return to activities that are important to them by using hands-on treatment to manage pain and stiffness, creating tailored exercise programs, and providing easy-to-understand patient education. Haeley believes in addressing muscular imbalances to prevent injuries and empowering patients to take an active approach to self-managing their condition. He specializes in treating musculoskeletal conditions, including persistent neck and low back pain, osteoarthritis, post-operative rehabilitation, and return to sport after shoulder and knee injuries. Haeley has completed post-graduate training in dry needling and is Watson’s Headache Level 1 certified. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, cycling, weightlifting, hiking, and golfing.

About the Event Moderator

Kate McCormack

Registered Physiotherapist, Prohealth In Touch Physiotherapy

Kate is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with a special interest in neuropathic pain in the lower back, neck, and lower limb injuries. She focuses on optimizing function through the facilitation of muscles, gait re-education, and retraining of the brain to regain movement and coordination. With experience in acute stroke rehabilitation, elderly medicine, and intensive care, Kate has also worked as a COVID frontline worker during the pandemic. She is certified in Dry Needling and Level 4 OCR Sports Massage and combines these skills with manual therapy and education to treat injuries, with a focus on exercise and strengthening. She also has an interest in women’s health, treating both pre-natal and incontinence issues.

Kate’s passion for physiotherapy stems from her love of sports, being active, and wanting to understand our body’s complex ability to perform these activities. She trained with her University rowing team, partaking in athletics, tennis and grew up dancing, running, and swimming. This practical experience allows her to understand and treat most sporting injuries.
